The Red Chair in the Green Garden

the red chair in the green garden
is a stop sign, a stepping stone,
a resting place.

a flaming counterpoint to green chaos,
a perch, an altar, a pulpit
the red chair in the green garden.

heartbeat, a red eye, a master and
the green garden is a flock of sheep
a resting place.

a bus and the green passengers
loll and spill over but arrive at their destination safely
the red chair in the green garden.

a servant, a bowl of unwashed beans
raw and woody; unprepared, unconsumed
a resting place.

breath, hunger, longing and fulfillment,
the red chair in the green garden
a resting place.

Bumblebee

Buzz Fuzz Buzz bumblebee
Bumblebee, bumbling under green fronds
Of bleeding hearts, pink and sweet,

Yards of lady’s bloomers
Playing with your heart as you grab
And hold on tight for a swinging, swaying ride.

Oh buzz bumblebee
Feel good way down deep inside.

Mother Earth changed her mind

Mother Earth changed her mind
Plates were thrown
waters roared

human flies and their tiny toys
left in wet heaps
like laundry

It’s not that she forgot us

Just that we were her idea

To begin with
